The Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, which connects Toyama and Nagano prefectures through the Northern Japan Alps, has officially announced that it will fully open for the 2026 season on Wednesday, April 15, 2026.
To celebrate the opening, the popular spring campaign “2026 Tateyama Kurobe Harutabi” (Spring Journey) will launch on the same day, featuring the world-famous “Yuki no Otani Walk” (Snow Wall Walk) as its main attraction.

About the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route
Located within the Chubu Sangaku National Park, the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route is one of the world’s premier mountain sightseeing trails. The route connects Tateyama Station in Toyama Prefecture to Ogizawa in Nagano Prefecture.
Visitors traverse the route using a relay of six different types of unique transportation—including cable cars, electric buses, and ropeways.
